A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced education, providing personalized, quality health care to patients. Our Nurse Practitioner provides individualized medical care tailored to support your health through every stage—from preconception and pregnancy to postpartum recovery and beyond. The services are designed to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare and holistic support, providing timely access to medical guidance, assessments, and care when you need it most.
With advanced training in primary care and experience managing a wide range of health concerns, our Nurse Practitioner offers a comprehensive approach that focuses on both immediate needs and long-term wellness. Whether you are navigating hormonal changes, preparing for pregnancy, or addressing ongoing health concerns, treatment plans are provided to support your individual goals.

Integrated, Thoughtful Care
Care is delivered through a collaborative and patient-focused model, combining clinical expertise with a whole-person perspective. The Nurse Practitioner works closely with our naturopathic doctors, to allow for deeper assessment of underlying factors rather than focusing solely on symptom management.
Where appropriate, care may include lab requisitions, interpretation of results, and medical guidance to help you better understand your health, create detailed treatment plans and make informed decisions moving forward.
A More Personalized Healthcare Experience
This approach is ideal for individuals and families who are working with naturopathic doctors and seeking a more attentive and supportive healthcare experience—especially during key life transitions such as pregnancy and postpartum. By combining medical knowledge with a holistic lens, care is designed to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in your health journey.
A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a healthcare professional who has completed a four-year postgraduate program in Naturopathic Medicine and successfully passed rigorous written and practical board examinations. Their training blends conventional and traditional medical knowledge with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice. NDs treat a wide range of health conditions while prioritizing prevention and long-term wellness. While familiar with pharmaceuticals, their care primarily emphasizes nutrition and diet, lifestyle management, targeted supplementation, acupuncture, botanical medicine, physical therapies, counselling, and homeopathy.
An ND or Doula takes the time to truly listen to your concerns and creates a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. During your sessions, your practitioner will guide you through understanding your health conditions, explore the pros and cons of different approaches, and answer your questions with care. These appointments allow for meaningful conversations, giving patients the space to share openly, ask questions, and gain clarity on their health journey.
Examples of therapies available include:
Physical therapies: massage, cupping, and other hands-on techniques
Relaxation practices: meditation, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, breathing and visualization exercises, positive affirmations
Acupressure and acupuncture
Herbal medicine and targeted supplementation
Lifestyle support: nutrition counseling, exercise planning, and overall habit modification

Many extended health care benefit plans include coverage for Naturopathy, allowing patients to claim services. The extent of coverage varies depending on each individual’s insurance policy. Both Doula services and Naturopathic appointments may be eligible for reimbursement under insurance plans.
The decision of when to work with a doula is personal to each family. Whether you choose to connect in the first, second, or third trimester, any stage is the right time to welcome a doula into your journey. That said, many families begin their work with a Doula during the second trimester.
Having a Doula by your side means continuous support from a trusted companion throughout your journey. Families often find it invaluable to have clear explanations of medical terms and procedures, guidance about their rights, education and practical tools, along with hands-on support during labour and birth. Doulas can also offer care for both planned and unplanned C-sections.
Research shows that women supported by a Doula experience shorter labours and hospital stays, require fewer medical interventions, have lower cesarean rates, and report less traumatic birth experiences.
Serene is a team of highly qualified Naturopathic Doctors and Doulas offering expert medical care for each individual. Improve your health and well-being through a holistic lens.
